Maya Singh is a Social Scientist, Author, Director of MyPHC Foundation, and former Journalist based in Patna, Bihar. She is the author of Mamma Ka Muamma and the Founder of MayaNagri, India’s first-ever Playschool for Senior Citizens (60+)—a groundbreaking initiative aimed at redefining aging through joy, active engagement, and social connection. She also serves as a Social Scientist at Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital (NSMCH).
Maya’s career spans over two decades across journalism, clinical psychology, human rights, and public health. An alumnus of Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya, her academic background includes a P.G. Diploma in Clinical Psychology from IGMPI,
a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and a Diploma in Gender Studies from MGAHV, alongside a Certificate in Human Rights from IGNOU. Her media experience includes reporting for ANI-TV News Agency in Delhi and the Qatar Tribune newspaper in Doha, Qatar.
Combining a deep foundation in human rights, gender advocacy, clinical psychology, and grassroots public health administration, Maya works to challenge societal stereotypes around aging, strengthen healthcare access for vulnerable populations, and drive meaningful social change, supported by longstanding service with Lions Clubs International.

Nikita Kumari
Speech-Language Pathologist | BASLP | RCI Registered
Nikita Kumari is a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist holding a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) from the Indian Institute of Health Education & Research, Patna, affiliated with Patliputra University. She has clinical experience in the assessment and management of speech, language, communication, and developmental difficulties.
Her areas of expertise include speech and language assessment, individualized therapy planning, articulation and language intervention, fluency management, hearing assessment, and basic audiological procedures. She follows a child-centred, evidence-based, and individualized approach, focusing on functional communication and overall development while actively involving parents and caregivers to support progress beyond the therapy setting.
Gaurav Kumar Singh
Nodal In-Charge, Mayanagri
Gaurav Kumar Singh serves as the Nodal In-Charge of Mayanagri, a special initiative dedicated to the care, companionship, wellness, and overall well-being of senior citizens. He plays an important role in creating a supportive and engaging environment where seniors can stay active, connected, independent, and enjoy a meaningful life with dignity and purpose. He holds degrees in Computer Applications, Education, Library & Information Science, and Psychology, along with professional training in Hardware & Networking and Guidance & Counselling.
With his multidisciplinary background in technology, education, psychology, counselling, and information management, he contributes to the effective coordination and development of BalyaNagri’s activities. He supports children and their parents while coordinating therapeutic, developmental, educational, and community-based programmes, with a focus on creating a supportive, inclusive, and dignified environment.
Archana Kumari
Occupational Therapist | BOT 2nd-Year Student
Archana Kumari is a dedicated and compassionate Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) 2nd-year student at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) with one year of clinical experience under the guidance and supervision of senior occupational therapists at PMCH. During her clinical training, she has gained valuable practical exposure to patient care, clinical assessment, therapeutic interventions, and rehabilitation practices.
She has also worked with Mayanagri as an Occupational Therapist, further enhancing her hands-on experience in providing patient-centered occupational therapy services. Her experience has helped her develop a deeper understanding of individualized care and the importance of supporting patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
She completed her Intermediate education from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) and Matriculation from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). With a strong commitment to learning and professional development, she continues to strengthen her clinical skills while contributing to the rehabilitation, development, and overall well-being of the Seniors and patients she supports.
Dr. Mamta Kumari
Academician & Social Development Professional
Dr. Mamta Kumari is a distinguished academician and social development professional with over 14 years of experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment, inclusive development, and community engagement. She has served as a faculty member at Goa University, Kurukshetra University, and Ranchi University, bringing extensive academic and social-development experience.
Her professional journey includes working with women prisoners during her doctoral research and spending four years closely engaging with Adivasi communities in Jharkhand. These diverse academic and grassroots experiences have shaped her strong commitment to community well-being and inclusive development.
She is now focused on creating a holistic ecosystem for senior citizens, promoting active ageing, social inclusion, companionship, recreation, well-being, dignity, and a meaningful life.
Dr. (Maj.) Jitendra Singh
Senior Consultant, ENT Department | Jay Prabha Medanta Super Speciality Hospital, Patna
Dr. (Maj.) Jitendra Kumar Singh is an experienced medical professional who served in the Indian Army for more than a decade and currently works as a Senior Consultant in the ENT Department at Jay Prabha Medanta Super Speciality Hospital, Patna. Alongside his medical career, he is passionate about social change and making healthcare more accessible to communities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he brought together doctors from different specialties to establish an online healthcare platform that connected people with medical professionals for appropriate guidance. Within just three months, approximately 2,000 patients received medical guidance, an initiative that highlighted the need for accessible, community-oriented healthcare.

Dr. Nitish R. Bhardwaj is a skilled Consultant Physiotherapist specializing in Senior Wellness and Active Ageing and movement development. With an MPT in Neurological Physiotherapy, BPT, and certification in Certified Manual Therapy, he combines clinical expertise with a compassionate, senior friendly approach.
As part of the Mayanagri team, he supports senior citizens through movement, wellness, and engaging activities that encourage active living, mobility, confidence, and a better quality of life.Alongside his clinical practice, he also serves as a Lecturer at the Ambedkar Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), Patna. Known for his friendly nature and effective communication, He works closely with senior citizens and their families to create a supportive and engaging environment that encourages active living, well-being, confidence, meaningful participation, and a strong sense of belonging.
